Warnings & Precautions
Charging
- Correct Charger Only: always use a Li-ion/Li-Po specific charger designed for CC/CV method and a 4.20V (±0.05V) termination. Using an incorrect voltage (e.g., 4.35V for a 4.2V cell) is extremely dangerous.
- No Trickle Charging: Do not apply a continuous trickle or maintenance charge after the CV cycle is complete.
- Temperature: Charge only within the specified temperature range (0°C to 45°C). Never charge below 0°C.
- Monitor: Do not leave charging batteries unattended for extended periods. Charge on a non-flammable surface.
Discharging
- Prevent Over-Discharge: Never discharge the cell below the 3.0V cut-off voltage under load. Persistent over-discharge will permanently damage the cell.
- Respect Current Limits: Do not exceed the specified Maximum Continuous Discharge Current. Excessive current causes overheating, rapid capacity fade, and safety hazards.
- Temperature: If the battery becomes excessively hot (>60°C) during use, discontinue use and allow it to cool in a safe place.
Storage
- Mechanical Protection: The aluminum pouch is easily punctured or torn. Never puncture, bend, fold, crush, or apply sharp pressure to the cell. Ensure the device housing provides adequate support and protection.
- Optimal Storage: For long-term storage (>1 month), condition the battery to 30%-50% State of Charge (~3.7V-3.8V) and store in a cool, dry environment.
- Inspection: Before use, inspect for any signs of swelling, leakage, puncture, or damaged tabs. Discard and recycle any damaged cell immediately.
